2016 State Championship: Coach Safety Officer Training

TNSCTP
2016 State Championship
Coach Safety Officer Training
Hello coaches,

With our added emphasis on Safety this year at the State Championships, we are going to allow one coach on the field during the event this year.  These coaches will be know as "Coach Safety Officers."

There will be one Coach Safety Officer per group on the field (Trap: 1/field, Skeet and Sporting Clays: 1/group of up to 6 athletes on the field or station).

These Coach Safety Officers are there to help observe and serve as an additional safety officer on the field.  They are not there to coach.

To be a Coach Safety Officer, you must attend one of the safety briefings.  We are asking teams to send as many NRA Level 1 coaches to the briefings as possible.  We will have several sessions per day, but you only need to attend once for the week.

Please click HERE to review the training notes in advance.

Briefing sessions:

Monday: 2:00 and 4:00 in the club house
Tuesday - Saturday: 7:30, 10:30, & 1:00.
Report to the Information Tent for class.

We look forward to seeing everyone at state!

Shooting Start Times
Hello coaches,

Registration is now closed, and we have some full schedules.  Skeet and Sporting Clays are the largest ever.

We are going to need everyone to be on-time or early to your scheduled spots and shoot as expeditious as possible.  Our goal is to finish the days as early as possible and save time when we can.  Here are some notes to help the days move smoothly.

Sporting Clays:  Sporting Clays is scheduled for 8:30 AM for the first flight.  We will begin as close to that as possible.  Do not start until your entire group is present and the score keeper says they are ready.  Sporting Clays is also not a spectator sport.  Please take as few people on the course as necessary.  The more spectators we have, the slower the day goes.

The later flights of Sporting Clays will begin at the time specified or 30 minutes after the previous flight, WHICHEVER IS LATER.

Skeet:  We are expecting flights to take 1:30 - 1:45.  Please be early to your field and watch the squading board to know the flow of the day.  Shooters should bring 4 boxes of ammo along with water to the table on the field.  When the first shooter leaves station 8, they should get their ammo, a drink of water, and proceed toward station 1 so they ready when the score keeper gets there.

Trap: Most trap squads will shoot in 45 minutes to 1 hour.  Every little bit of time adds up during the day.  The squad registration shows start times on the hour, but please arrive 1:30 to 2 hours early to be ready to start when the squad ahead of you finished.  The entire schedule is on the web.  If there are partial squads ahead of you, you will most likely start early.  If your squads are not present when it is your turn to shoot, other squads may be moved into your slot to speed the day along.  You will get to shoot, but it may be later or on a different field.

We look forward to seeing everyone at state!
