Steps taken against Chronic Wasting Disease

Original photo by Ennette Martin
Chronic Wasting Disease, or CWD, is a readily transmitted disease that infects deer, elk, and other cervids. It causes weight loss, tremors, repetitive walking patterns, an inability to hold head up, and eventually --- but always --- death. Recent research has shown 10% annual reductions in some deer populations.

The disease has not yet spread to Tennessee, and we are working to keep it that way.

2017 Coach / Athlete International Skeet Clinic

TNSCTP
Coach / Athlete
International Skeet Clinic
Hello Everyone!

We're excited to announce the inaugural International Skeet Clinic, which is open to both coaches and athletes.

The daylong session, hosted by Bob King, will provide the knowledge of rules, skills and processes needed to begin a successful and enjoyable career in international skeet competition. This is a great skill builder for those looking to compete on the collegiate or international level!

The clinic is intended for coach/athlete pairs, or coaches with a small group of athletes. Coach involvement will enable ongoing, guided skill development. Youth will shoot and coaches may shoot, depending on desires and time available.

The clinic is limited to 24 total participants (coaches and athletes), so register soon!

When:
March 19, 2017
9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. CT, with one hour for lunch beginning at 11:30 a.m. CT

Where:
Harpeth Scholastic Shooting Complex
8541 US HWY 31 ALT
College Grove, TN  37046

What:
The clinic will address the essentials of international skeet and meets State JO Training/Experience requirements (and fulfills the Friday training session for first time JO participants).
  • We will cover the rules from a competitor's standpoint and the reasons behind those rules.
  • We will compare and contrast American skeet and international skeet to leverage prior experience and make recommendations for success in both sports.
  • We will learn to correctly mount and attack the target with control and precision.
  • Coaches will leave with a knowledge of the needed processes and a viable training plan for their specific situation, as well as contact info for advanced coaches and networking with other shooters.

Advanced registration is required and payment is due on location. Cash only please! Regulation international skeet ammo will be available on site and is $6 a box. Targets are $5 per 25 thrown. Please estimate $75-$100 per participant.

Because international skeet rules require different motions, please bring multiple shotguns if you have them.

Please bring plenty of water and a brown bag lunch. Or, there will be time for individuals to go purchase lunch.

Thank you,
Tennessee Wildlife Federation team
