Four Hunt Master Youth Turkey Hunts
Dear Athletes, Coaches, & Parents,
Tennessee SCTP athletes and their guardians have four opportunities to apply for upcoming mentored turkey hunts!
Part of Tennessee Wildlife Federation's Hunt Masters initiative, these events link Tennessee SCTP athletes--and an accompanying parent or guardian--with trained hunters who conduct multiple day hunts.
More than hunting alone, the weekend involves primitive camping, outdoor skills development(e.g. field dressing their harvested turkey), and turkey hunting 101. Parent/guardian involvement is a core component to the weekend.
All hunters are asked to use 20-gauge or 12-gauge shotguns with turkey chokes (extra full) and turkey load ammo. All meals will be provided as part of the weekend.
Athletes must be currently registered for the upcoming season, have successfully completed the Tennessee Hunter Education course prior to the hunt, and have a valid Tennessee hunting license.
Participants will be selected from the applications and will then receive more details regarding their specific hunt. Apply using the links below.
All who are interested should apply.
March 23-25 in Jackson, Tenn. (2 hunts)
Open to current Tennessee SCTP athletes ages 9 to 16.
$150 per hunter for a 3-day mentored hunt (covers parent/guardian participation as well)
