TNSCTP
2018 Scholarship Opportunities
Athletes, Parents, and Coaches,

We are pleased to present two scholarship opportunities for 2018.

First is the Tennessee SCTP Scholarship. Tennessee Wildlife Federation will present one, $1,000 and three, $750 scholarships. This year the essay topic is:

"Write a sales pitch promoting Tennessee SCTP. Use your experience, the lessons you have learned, and the skills you have gained or developed to recruit youth participants to the shooting sports. Tell how you would market the pitch to youth, parents, and prospective coaches."

Second is the Robert Tipton Memorial Scholarship. Tennessee Wildlife Federation will present one $1,000 scholarship. The essay topic for the Tipton Scholarship is:

"Each generation brings a new perspective to conservation needs and practices. Identify a pressing conservation need in Tennessee and propose how to effectively and sustainably address this need."

The application process for both scholarships is laid out in the attachments below. Coaches, please forward the applications to your graduating athletes.

All applications are due to the Tennessee Wildlife Federation office by June 1.

Applications will be reviewed and winners contacted by July 1.  Scholarship recipients will be recognized along with the All-State Team at a later date.

2018 Tennessee SCTP Academic All-State

TNSCTP
2018 Tennessee Academic
All-State Application
Hello Everyone!

The Tennessee Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) Academic All-State award recognizes performance on the field and in the classroom. All-State eligibility includes academic and shooting score criteria and are detailed in the application. Please note, in addition to regional and state scores, scores reflecting performance in international disciplines are also considered this year.

Awards will be calculated after the State Championships, and athletes will be recognized at the All-State and Scholarship banquet and fun shoot, tentatively scheduled for August 11.

Tennessee SCTP Academic All-State is similar to the National SCTP All-Scholastic award but differs greatly from the National SCTP All-State team. The National SCTP All-State teams are the top five athletes from each state, in each discipline, who are attending the National Championships, and athletes may represent more than one discipline. Five athletes are chosen from each discipline to compete with their individual teams. After the competition, the scores from the All-State team are combined and recognized accordingly. The top teams from the top three states are recognized.  For 2017, each National All-State team member received special shirts to recognize them during the 10-day competition.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
