Reminder: Registration Open: 2019 Ironman Shoot

TNSCTP
2019 Tennessee SCTP Ironman Shoot Registration
Coaches and Volunteers,

This is a reminder that registration is now open for the third annual Tennessee SCTP Ironman competition. You may register as many squads or individuals as you wish. Register through SHOT today!

Registration will close Sunday, March 3.  Skeet and trap field assignments will be ready via SHOT by Tuesday, March 5.

The two-day Ironman Shoot was added to the schedule to provide more competition opportunities and put every member of the squad to the test. Each five-man squad will shoot 100 targets in all three disciplines: trap, skeet, and sporting clays.

There is one change for Ironman this year.  We will be using coaches and volunteers from the teams for scoring. Each team will be responsible for providing one scorekeeper per squad (or minimum group of three) registered. Scorekeepers will be assigned to a different team's squad. We are also reducing the price by $20 per person.

This is a great way for youth to engage in a very challenging competition, try their hands at new disciplines, and test themselves against those in different age brackets and skill levels.

You're Invited: Upcoming Turkey Hunts!

You're Invited: Turkey Hunts
Dear Youth and Parents/Guardians

You are invited to apply for upcoming turkey hunts!

The Federation's Hunting and Fishing Academy will host youth and their accompanying parent or guardian for mentored turkey hunts.

These opportunities are more than a simple hunting event. Hunting and Fishing Academy provides engaging hands-on instruction in the art of becoming an outdoorsman. Highly-trained, lifelong hunters will demonstrate and guide participants through completing essential skills in the field. These mentors remain a resource to participants long after the weekend is over.

Hunt requirements:
  • Hunters must use a shotgun with a full choke and have the corresponding turkey ammunition.
    • Here is a Turkey Checklist that is provided by our partners at Academy Sports + Outdoors that can be useful to determine what you will need for a turkey hunt.
  • Hunters must complete the Marksmanship Certification before attending the hunt.
  • Hunters must have successfully completed the Tennessee Hunter Education course prior to the hunt and have a valid Tennessee hunting license.

Participants will be selected from the applicants. Youth not selected for the hunt will be waitlisted. More information is below, and hunt specific details will be provided directly to the selected participants.

The cost of each hunt is $150 for the hunting youth and $150 for the non-hunting parent/guardian for a total of $300.
